FMZ Cellular is an authorized MTN-branded retail partner that has been operating for over 20 years in the beautiful Garden Route, Klein Karoo right down to the Western Cape. Founded in 2002 as a family-owned business, FMZ Cellular opened the doors of its first store in Oudtshoorn, followed by a second store in George. Over the next 3 years, they opened another 3 stores and have grown to have a total of 11 stores with 54 employees in 2023.
The name FMZ originated from the family members' names. The founder of FMZ Cellular, Frikkie Van Eck has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunication industry and believes that the growth and success of a business are based on the fundamental principles of empowering people, providing proper training to them, and hard work.

In 2004 FMZ Cellular received the MTN Annual Dealer Award followed by The National Top 20 Status Achievement award in 2005. In 2008 FMZ Cellular was awarded the Samsung Top Achiever award and in 2022 FMZ Cellular received the award for the dealership with the Best Financial Pilar of the balanced scorecard.

FMZ Cellular is a business that is passionate about people and believes in supporting community projects. FMZ Cellular has been involved in supporting the Lunda Hand Project, Binah Legacy Centre, Carpe Diem School, and Moreson Kinderhuis. They have also participated in sponsoring Karaté Zen Club, Royal Swimming Club, the George Golf Club, Sundowners at George Golf Club, and the George Golf Club Ladies competition.
